Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has withdrawn from the England squad, following an injury in training on Friday.
The defender came out worse following a challenge with Atletico Madrid full-back Kieran Trippier and will miss the last Euro 2020 qualifier match against Kosovo.
The 22-year-old has been in the headlines through the week as a result of a clash with teammate Raheem Sterling, after the pair's heated confrontation from their English Premier League match last Sunday.
The clash in the England camp left the defender with a scratch below his eye and led to Sterling's suspension for their match against Montenegro.
Gomez was then booed by a section of the fans when he was introduced with 70 minutes gone in the match, but Sterling leapt to his defence after the game.
The FA revealed that Gomez, alongside Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, will head back to the Reds camp for treatment before the return of domestic action.
Henderson is said to have arrived in camp with a viral infection that has not fully cleared.
"Henderson arrived in camp with a viral infection that has not fully cleared. Meanwhile, his Liverpool team-mate Gomez sustained a knock in training on Friday and has not recovered sufficiently enough to travel,"
"The pair now returned to their club meaning the Three Lions will head to Pristina on Saturday with a 23-man squad,"
England, who have already qualified for the tournament will play their last match on Sunday, with manager Gareth Southgate expected to give some youngsters game-time.
