πŸ‡¬πŸ‡πŸ—£ Andre Ayew on the GFA: We have lost this organization

Ghana are weeks away from facing South Africa in an AFCON 2021 qualifier, and will do so having had no friendly game preparations.

While the top African nations such as Senegal, Nigeria & Algeria have played the world’s best nations between August to October, Black Stars players and fans have had to sit home and follow the action in the media.

A core reason for the situation is of course due to the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) chaotic state, and it includes depleted bank accounts.

The team’s captain Andre Ayew has spoken out ahead of next month’s qualifiers. "We are very disappointed because in the last two international truces, we have not played friendly matches and we do not know why,” Ayew told Modern Ghana today.

"We made very good progress until 2014 when we had some small problems. From that moment, we will not lie, we started to regress.”

"We played friendlies against big countries. We played against England, Russia, big countries to continue to progress, but since then we have lost this organization," added the Swansea City attacker.

The Black Stars will welcome South Africa to Accra on 15 November - the event will be followed by a trip to minnows Sao Tome & Principe on the 19th.
