👀Key international fixtures to watch out for this week

The first international break of the season is here, with Euro 2020 qualifiers, plus some friendlies lined up.

We shift our focus from the league matches and take a look at some of the key matches during this two-week break.

Thursday 5 September

  • Romania v Spain (Bucharest, 8.45pm CET)

Spain lead Group F in the Euro qualifiers, and will face second-placed Romania. The Spaniards have their one hundred percent record intact after four games and will hope to keep up with the same going into the match. Apart from the top two, Sweden and Norway are the other two main contenders in the group.

  • Friday 6 September

Germany v Holland (Hamburg, 8.45pm CET)

Perhaps the highlight of the qualifiers, Germany, currently second behind Northern Ireland will host the Dutch, knowing a win will take them top of the group.  The Dutch, on the other hand, are third on three points, although they've played two games.

Saturday 7 September

  • France v Albania (Paris, 8.45pm CET)

The world champions are top of the group on nine points, same as Turkey, who beat them earlier in the year at home. France entertains Albania in a match they are expected to win, even though they have been hit with injuries in their preparations.

  • Serbia v Portugal (Belgrade, 8.45pm CET)

UEFA Nations League champions Portugal will be away to Serbia, hunting for their first win of the Euro 2020 qualifiers.  Serbia held them to a 1-1 draw in Lisbon and now the sides meet again in Belgrade. Ukraine are currently well clear at the top of Group B.

  • Brazil v Colombia (Miami, 8.30pm local, 2.30am CET)

The South American rivals will lock horns once again in an international friendly at the Hard Rock Stadium, in Miami and you don't want to miss this.
