Swansea City winger Joel Asoro has officially made a move to Eredivisie side Groningen on Thursday on what will be a season-long loan deal.
In a statement via their official website, Swansea City confirmed that the player's departure after reaching an agreement with the Dutch top-flight club.
Asoro joined the Swans last season but didn't really make his presence count as he only featured in 17 first-team matches throughout the campaign.
Though he has featured for Sweden youth teams, the young attack-minded player is still eligible to feature for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the future as he has not played competitively for the senior national team.
Asoro became the youngest player of Nigerian descent to feature in the English Premier League when he appeared in Sunderland's 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough three years ago.
He was 17-years- old when he achieved a great feat.
He needs to improve his game in the Dutch League this season if he must justify the faith and believe many fans had in him during his time with Sunderland.
