Kenya U15 National team will start its CECAFA U15 Championship against Somalia on Friday 16th in Eritrea starting from 2:00 PM EAT.
The tournament has been reorganized into two groups with five teams each following the withdrawal of Djibouti earlier this week. The Kenyan youth team was initially pooled in Group A alongside Burundi, Somali and the hosts Eritrea. On the other end, Group B consisted of Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia and South Sudan with Tanzania, Sudan and Djibouti falling in Group C.
And now the reorganized draw sees Group A consist of Kenya, Sudan, Burundi, Somalia and hosts Eritrea while Group B now has Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and South Sudan.
It is now all systems go for the opener, which will pit the FKF Center of Excellence against Somalia.
The Junior Stars will next face Sudan in matchday 2 on Sunday, then Burundi on Tuesday next week before winding up their campaign against hosts Eritrea on Thursday, August 22, 2019.
The top two teams from each group will automatically qualify to the semis, set to be played on August 28, while the final has been scheduled for August 30, 2019, in Asmara.
