Rare start for Mweene in Sundowns cup win

Zambia national team goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene made a rare start for Mamelodi Sundowns in their Nedbank cup encounter against Eastern Cape Bees.

With Dennis Onyango, The first choice rested Mweene only had to shrugged off competition from Ghanian goalkeeper Razak Brimah who was relegated to the bench as Mweene too his place between the sticks.

The lower tier side was first to strike with Joseph Bongani Chikile who beat Mweene at the near post after some mix up by his defence just sixteen minutes into the match.

However Masandawana re-organised at the break and came back with more intent. Second half goals from Hlopo Kekana and Morena was all that Sundowns needed to sail to the next round beating Bees by two goals to one.
