Makwata denied a goal, bags assist in Zambia debut

A controversial decision denied Kenyan international John Mark Makwata from dream start to the Zambian league as Buildcon drew Power Dynamos in Monday 1 May league clash.

The 2016 KPL top scorer who joined his compatriot Clifton Miheso for Buildcon third league tie, was quick to make his presence with a goal creation role.


Makwata teed up Maisha Chadva to set Team Kopala side to a seventh minute lead.

He was however denied what ought to be the host's second goal and his Zambian league debut in controversial offside call before Zambian winger Fwayo Tembio tucked home from the spot to restore parity heading to the break.

The Kenyan striker will be hugely relied on to shoulder the goal-getting duties  for the league new comers.
