Former United legend, Michael Owen, believes that Arsenal‘s record against the top six teams in the Premier League means they won’t win the FA Cup this season.
The Gunners booked their place in the semi-final of the competition with a 5-0 thrashing of Lincoln City on Saturday evening, meaning Arsene Wenger is two wins away from lifting the trophy for the seventh time as a manager.
Standing in his way of achieving history are Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and one of Chelsea or Manchester United, but given recent performances, Owen believes the north London side are the weakest of the remaining sides.
-I can’t see them winning the FA Cup, If they play Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City maybe Tottenham they are going out with the way they’re playing at the moment, Owen told BT Sport.
Can they salvage anything...?
Having lost too much ground on the Premier League title-race of late, as well as crashing out of the Champions League earlier in the week as a result of losing 10-2 on aggregate against Bayern Munich, the FA Cup presents the last chance at a piece of silverware for Wenger this season.
