Liverpool forward Sadio Mane started the decade with a bang after bagging the African Player of the Year at the CAF Awards 2019 following a stellar 12 months for the Reds and Senegal.
The Senegalese forward had a year to remember after winning the 2018-2019 Premier League Golden Boot tied with Mohamed Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The 27-year-old also aided Liverpool to their sixth Champions League crown and was instrumental in their Premier League runners up finish, missing out on the title by a single point to Manchester City.
Mane had another runners up medal in his cabinet after Senegal finished second in the 2019 African Cup of Nations, losing out to Algeria in the final.
Mane's impressive form did not go unnoticed as he finished fourth in the voting for the Balon d'Or behind winner Lionel Messi, Virgil van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Since 2016 Mane has finished third and second in the last two consecutive African Player of the Year awards but has finally had his maiden award.
