Rising Manchester United star Dillion Hoogerwerf has been provisionally cap-tied to the Netherlands after making his debut in the 2020 European U17 Championship qualifier according to All Nigeria Soccer.
The former Ajax Amsterdam Academy striker is born to a Dutch father and Nigerian mother which makes him eligible to play for both nations.
However, Hoogerwerf would have to submit an application to FIFA for a one-time change of association should he decide to represent his motherland in the near future.
The Oranje head coach Mischa handed the 16-year-old his debut for the U17 team where they played to a 1-1 draw to Kosovo in Group 12 of the EURO qualifiers on October 9.
The Manchester United striker has not been called up for the upcoming FIFA U17 World Cup - majority of the players in the team are born in 2002, nineteen in total from a list of 22 named on the provisional squad.
