Veteran goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba has made his return to the Uganda national team to work in the department that he is well-known for, Kawowo Sports revealed.
Kajoba will be part of the technical staff under the newly-minted Uganda Cranes head coach Johnathan McKinstry as the team is set to travel to Ethiopia ahead of an international friendly on Sunday, October 13.
The 50-year-old has been out of work since the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament when former head coach Sebastien Desabre and his staff were sacked after failing to progress further in the campaign.
“God is merciful through the virgin Mary. I am happy to be back to serve my country. Water will forever follow its pathway when it has ever flowed, Kajobsa said.
"I am humbled by the FUFA leadership to bounce back and serve."
Kajoba will be working alongside Michael Alexander McCarthy, the new fitness coach, Charles Livingstone Mbabazi (assistant coach), Emmanuel Nakabago (team doctor) and Frank Bumpenje (kits manager).
Kajoba was the previous head coach of Uganda Premier League side Bright Stars before he was sacked in July 2019.
