Winger Riyad Mahrez scored and set up Ilkay Gundogan as Manchester City rout Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0 in their first UEFA Champions League match this season.
Mahrez made his 50th Manchester City appearance a memorable one as his brilliance will go down in history.
Man City broke the deadlock in the 24th minute when Gundogan's shot hit against the post and Mahrez converted the rebound.
The English Premier League champions extended their lead before half time as a lovely pass spread to Mahrez, who came back inside and slipped the ball into Gundogan who just needed to take a touch and fire home.
Gabriel Jesus, who has missed many chances early on, scored City's third goal in the 76th minute to seal all three points.
