Derby County's new summer recruit Krystian Bielik has been officially awarded his maiden call-up to the Poland national team, Derbyshire Live understands.
Bielik is set to feature in the Poland squad that will take Slovenia and Austria in the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers.
This news comes as a massive shock for the youngster as this is his first senior call-up having only played for the youth sides.
Poland are set to take on Slovenia in Ljubljana on Friday, September 8 (7.45PM), and are back on home soil three days later as they host Austria at Warsaw’s Stadion Narodowy on Monday, September 9 (7.45PM).
Bielik so far has 22 caps across Poland’s youth ranks, including six at Under-21 level, and also has six goals to his name.
The 21-year-old has made approximately four appearances for Derby since being acquired from Premier League side, Arsenal.
