Arsenal manager Unai Emery has suggested he was pleased with the full debuts of his summer signings, as the Gunners beat Burnley 2-1 at home on Saturday afternoon.
David Luiz made his debut since moving from London rivals Chelsea, while Nicolas Pepe and Dani Ceballos made full debuts after their second-half introductions in the season opener against Newcastle.
Pepe was Emery 's marquee signing, arriving from Lille in a reported fee of £72 million, while Ceballos is on loan from Real Madrid.
Ceballos, in particular, was impressive in midfield and was instantly labeled the heir to Santi Carzola's throne.
Luiz and Pepe too had a decent match, and their manager was full of praise for his side after the match.
"Yes, [they were] very good. [It was] their first match here at home officially," Emery told BT Sport.
"I want to speak about the team. But individually [they were] also good. [Nicolas] Pepe good, Dani good, David Luiz good, and other players also.
The manager was also impressed with the whole team's performance, adding;
"We are happy. Three points. We started at home with a win, which is important. Tough match, really we wanted to connect with our supporters here and create a big atmosphere with the supporters and us and be one big connection,"
"We defended well I think, but sometimes too deep. We didn’t impose our gameplan in 90 minutes like we wanted to do, but really I know it’s difficult. Some really good things today, others to check and improve. But I really, really think we can be happy,"
Arsenal will next play Liverpool in a top-of-the-table clash at the Anfield.
