Chelsea midfielder Jorgiho has promised to go an extra mile to prove himself at the club this season.
The former Napoli man has further said he wants to be remembered as a Chelsea player, rather than be known as 'the player who only works with Sarri'.
Jorginho has worked under former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri, who 'moved' with him at the start of last season when he joined the Blues.
"I was a little sad seeing people thinking I arrived here only because of [Sarri]. I arrived here because of my hard work, my day to day work, my sacrifices," he said during an interview with Esporte Interativo.
The Italian midfielder has been in the starting lineup ever since he joined the London outfit, and has finally adapted to life at the club after a tumultuous beginning.
He was at some point booed by the club's fans during Sarri's tenure, and there were fears he would leave with the Italian coach when he left to join Seria A giants Juventus.
"It's a challenge for me to show the fans that thanks to my work it's why I got here," Jorginho continued.
"I want to take this opportunity to have a good season and also for my name to be recognized by Jorginho who plays for Chelsea, not Jorginho who only works with Sarri,"
He seems to be adjusting well to life under new manager Frank Lampard and was one of the star performers during the Super Cup final against Liverpool on Wednesday night in Istanbul.
