AFCON 2019: Nigerian billionaire Dangote redeems $50K pledge to Super Eagles

Players and officials of the Super Eagles are getting richer and richer as they are getting rewarded for finishing 3rd at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Days after Femi Otedola fulfilled his promise of $25,000, Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, has brought to fruition his pledge of $50,000.

The Nigeria Football Federal revealed that the money was presented to the team in Lagos by Olakunle Alake, GMD of Dangote Group, accompanied by Anthony Chiejina, Chief Corp. Communication Officer.

The Super Eagles team was represented by John Ogu, Team Admin, Enebi Achor and Kit manager, Chidi Ngoka.

The pledge was made to the Super Eagles for every goal scored at the semi final match of the 2019 AFCON.

Nigeria lost 2-1 to Algeria, no thanks to a Riyad Mahrez's 90th minute screemer.

The Super Eagles went on to beat Tunisia 1-0 in the third place match to win the bronze medal.
