Tottenham striker moves to Mexico

Tottenham Hotspurs has confirmed that striker Vincent Janssen has left the club to join Mexican side C.F Monterrey.

In a statement, Spurs noted: “We have reached an agreement with Mexican side C.F. Monterrey for the transfer of Vincent Janssen.

“The Netherlands international striker joined us from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2016 and made 42 appearances, scoring six goals as well as spending time on loan at Fenerbahce.

“We wish Vincent all the best for the future.”

Deal

The deal is believed to have earned Spurs £10million this despite a disastrous three-year spell that saw him the striker scored just six goals in 42 games.

The 25-year-old Holland international joined Spurs from AZ Alkmaar for £18m in July 2016 after a goal-laden spell in the Eredivisie.

However, he failed to make an impact at White Hart Lane, with four of his goals coming from the penalty spot.
