Romelu Lukaku has been incessantly linked with Inter Milan in the current transfer window with his Belgian counterpart Dries Mertens urging him to make a switch to Serie A giants Inter Milan.
The Manchester United striker, who hasn't yet featured for the Reds on pre-season tour, is believed to be interested in a move to Italy with Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio having met United officials in an attempt to reach a deal. United and Inter, however, have failed to agree on the valuation Lukaku with the Red Devils holding out for £75million.
Speaking to Sky Sports Italy, Mertens heaped praise on Lukaku urging him to join him in the Serie A, "Lukaku is a very good player, already one of the best five strikers in the Premier League. He’s still young and can learn a lot. He’s a person that always wants to improve so I’m certain he would be a good signing for Inter."
According to reports, Inter would prefer a player exchange deal for Lukaku, or to pay in installments, whereas United want the full fee upfront.
