With David De Gea being linked with a move out of Old Trafford, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that the Spaniard could soon sign a new contract.
The former Atletico Madrid keeper is expected to sign a new deal once United return from their pre-season tour of Australasia next week after the club offered him improved terms. De Gea sat out of United's opening pre-season game against Perth Glory but Solskjaer confirmed he will play against Leeds United on Wednesday.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of the Leeds clash, Solskjaer provided a future update on De Gea, "He'll play tomorrow and hopefully we can agree with David. As I've said a few times, that'll be up to David and the club to announce if that happens, if and when."
According to reports De Gea is in line to earn at least £350,000-a-week if he pens a new contract and could earn parity with highest-earner Alexis Sanchez.
