After scoring a late match-winner against Nigeria in the African Cup of Nations semi-finals, Riyad Mahrez has termed getting into the final as "unbelievable".
Mahrez had a hand in the opener as his cross was turned into the net by William Troost-Ekong as the Udinese defender could do nothing to prevent the own goal. Nigeria restored parity in the 72nd minute from the penalty spot after a handball from Etebo Oghenekaro's shot which Odion Ighalo converted.
With the game seemingly headed for extra-time, Mahrez handed Algeria the win in the 95th minute from a free-kick just at the edge of the penalty area.
Speaking in a press conference after the win over Nigeria, Mahrez was delighted to get to the final of the tournament, "It was a very, very tough game against a strong team. We were 1-0 up, good in the game and this decision of the VAR, of the penalty ... they scored and we have this free-kick and we scored, so we are very, very happy because to be in the final of Afcon is unbelievable."
