With Romelu Lukaku being linked with a move out of Old Trafford, Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has confirmed that he was in England to hold talks with Manchester United over the transfer of the Belgian.
Serie A giants Inter are the side who have been heavily linked with Lukaku, with new manager Antonio Conte, who wanted to sign him for Juventus and Chelsea, wanting to build his new strike force around him. Lukaku and his agent have in the recent past publicly made their intentions of leaving, with the Belgian terming the move to Inter a dream.
In an interview with Sky Sports after arriving back in Milan on Thursday, Ausilio confrimed that he has held talks with United over the transfer of Lukaku, "We had a meeting with Man United for Lukaku. It has been an official approach between two important clubs. Let’s see. Conte wants every player we’re trying to sign."
Lukaku has scored 42 goals in 96 games for United since arriving from Everton in 2017 and managed to find the net 15 times in 45 appearances last season.
