Arsenal have reportedly overtaken rivals Tottenham Hotspur ahead of possibly signing Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.
Spurs were leading the way for the 22-year-old but the Spanish side are now said to be listening to multiple offers.
Unai Emery is reportedly keen on signing Ceballos on loan and Marca reported that the Gunners are now leading the queue.
Arsenal have been handed a transfer budget of only £45million this summer and Emery has to make use of the funds the best way he can to bolster his squad.
He wants the option to make the deal permanent if Ceballos was to join and impress at the Emirates Stadium.
Ceballos only played 13 games for Real last season and is looking to develop and become a fixture in whichever side he opts to join.
He is in high demand after starring for Spain Under 20s at their European Championship victory in June.
Real are keen to secure a permanent deal for the former Real Betis man as they want to fund a move for Paul Pogba.
