Aston Villa are said to be considering a move for Middlesbrough goalkeeper Darren Randolph, according to reports.
Dean Smith is keen to bring in a new keeper in this summer, with a whole host of names being reportedly linked.
It had emerged earlier that Villa were planning a big money move for Stoke City and England keeper Jack Butland, but that move is now believed to have been shelved.
Their attention then shifted to Butland's England colleague Tom Heaton. The 33-year-old has turned down a new deal with Burnley and could be available for a more reasonable fee this summer.
Despite intense speculation, Clarets boss Sean Dyche has claimed that, at present, there have been no approaches for the Manchester United academy graduate.
Randolph is coming off the back of a sterling season on Teesside that saw him scoop their Player of the Season, as well as a place in the Championship Team of the Season.
The 32-year-old currently has two years left on his deal at The Riverside.
On Thursday, Villa wrapped up their seventh signing of the summer with Ezri Konsa's switch from Brentford finalised.
He joins Kortney Hause, Anwar El Ghazi, Jota, Matt Targett, Tyrone Mings and Wesley Moraes in Smith's exciting squad.
