Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an injury update on forward Alexis Sanchez as the team continues with its preseason training in Australia.
According to Solskajaer, Sanchez is expected to be available for the back end of Manchester United's pre-season campaign, despite sustaining an injury while representing Chile.
“I don't think Alexis's injury was too bad. When he's due back is three weeks after his last game, so that will be just after we come back from tour. I would expect him to be fit enough to play straight away and train straight away,” explained Solskjaer at a press conference in Australia, ahead of the first match of Tour 2019 against Perth Glory.
The South American forward appeared to pick up a hamstring injury during his country's third/fourth-place play-off against Argentina in the Copa America in Brazil.
United have a friendly against Kristiansund in Oslo on Tuesday 30 July and a clash in Cardiff with AC Milan on Saturday 3 August, before our Premier League campaign starts with the home match against Chelsea on 11 August.
Providing Alexis is fit enough to resume training as originally planned, he could feature in those final two pre-season fixtures.
