Premier League side Manchester United have confirmed two more appointments in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s staff at the AON Training Complex.
The two joining staff are former defender Michael Clegg who is the new first-team strength and power coach while Ed Leng has been recruited as the first-team lead sports scientist. The pair will link up with Richard Hartis who rejoined the club in the role of senior goalkeeping coach last month.
“We’ve got some ex-Manchester United people, even ex-players,“ Ole revealed in United’s exclusive pre-season interview.
“We’ve got Mike Clegg, who I played with. I worked under his dad [Mick] when he was a coach in the gym here. We’ve got Richard [Hartis] who I have worked with before for seven or eight years, so I’m really close to him.
“And Ed has come in as well, in that group of people. He's not a Man United guy but he has worked with Warren Joyce, who is, of course, a United guy, and I worked with him. They all know what the club is about and what I’m about. They are great people for me to bring in.”
