After a 15-year absence from the African Cup of Nations, Harambee Stars will return on Sunday 23rd June as they take on Algeria. Here is how they are likely to line up against the North African giants.
Sebastien Migne has stuck to a consistent starting 11 with his tinkering being forced by suspensions and injuries. After Brian Mandela picked up an injury that ruled him out of the tournament, Migne will have a selection headache in central defense with Musa Mohammed also suffering a knock in training weeks ago.
In the last match against DR Congo, Migne went with Okumu and Onyango which worked pretty well but should Musa be fully fit he is likely to start after him and Joash kept a clean sheet against Ghana at home. The French tactician has recently heaped praise on Okumu as he has been impressed with his performances.
Starting XI: Patrick Matasi, Philemon Otieno, Joseph Okumu, Joash Onyango, Abud Omar, Dennis Odhiambo, Victor Wanyama, Francis Kahata, Ayub Timbe, Eric Johanna, Michael Olunga.
Subs: Farouk Shikalo, Eric Ouma, Musa Otieno, David Owino, Johanna Omolo, Ismael Gonzalez, Masud Juma.
