Three Chelsea players likely to follow Sarri to Juventus
Maurizio Sarri has officially taken over reigns at Juventus, signing a three-year contract to lead the Italian Champions after ending his links with Chelsea.
The Italian was never a popular figure at Stamford Bridge, and despite an indifferent season, he bagged the Europa League trophy and helped the side to a third-place finish in the Premier League.
As he takes over at the Turin club, the former Napoli man is expected to build his team the same way he did at Naples and later at Chelsea.
He moved with Jorginho, one of his key players in his time at Napoli to start his revolution in England and played him in his favoured anchoring point in midfiled.
It is widely expected that Sarri will try to move with some players back to Italy, and we look at the top three who might make the switch.
The Italian was Sarri's main man at Napoli and Chelsea as well. He was the rock under which his 'Sarri ball' was built. On his arrival in England, he displaced fan-favourite N'Golo Kante from his favoured number in the middle of the park, with the Frenchman forced to play further upfront.
Even when results went south and fans called for a change, Sarri stuck with his favoured player. It is widely expected that he might demand his services in Turin, and Chelsea fans will have to brace themselves for a battle.
2. Emerson Palmieri
The Italian-Brazilian signed for Chelsea in January 2018 and became a regular under Sarri towards the end of the campaign, displacing Marcos Alonso on the left wing. Sarri is said to be keen on the former Palermo and Roma player, who's known for his quick movements on the ball.
3. Gonzalo Higuain
The Argentine is already contracted to Juventus but spent the last half of the season at Chelsea on loan under Sarri. He might be heading back to his club, where he will once again join Sarri, who showed faith in him during his time at the Bridge. The two have worked together before at Napoli, where the striker had the best years of his career.
