Zanaco defender confident of victory in ABSA Cup semifinal

Sensational Zanaco defender Kelvin Owusu believes his team will beat Green Eagles on Saturday to qualify to the final of the ABSA Cup.

The Ghanaian center-back has even gone further to say the bankers will keep a clean sheet. Zanaco faces Eagles at 13:00hrs at Nkoloma Stadium for a chance to compete for half a million Kwacha prize money in the final of the ABSA Cup set for the Copperbelt on June 22nd.

"We are 100 percent ready for Green Eagles. They are not a small team and they have tested the CAF Confederation Cup. We are going to attack and defend as a team. This weekend it is going to be a good game and we are going to win without conceding," He told Futaa Zambia.

"We have a match this Saturday against Green Eagles. They are a big team and any time we face a big team we defend as a team and we don't underrate them. Our concentration is always at 100%," he added.

POROUS DEFENSE

Owusu believes Zanaco have a good defense and only conceded goals for fun in the transitional league because they were underrating teams. Zanaco conceded 23 goals in the transitional Superleague which was the highest in Stream A.

"Our defense is not bad. We have a very good defense but we underrate teams. The defense is not four people but it takes the whole team. If we are not going to underrate Green Eagles then our defense will be solid and we are not going to concede. We usually attack as a team but defending is what we lack," He said.

"The coaches have talked to us and psyched our minds to mark as a team and this weekend that's what we are going to do," he added.

The winner between Green Eagles and Zanaco will face the winner between Zesco United and Buildcon in the final of the 2019 ABSA Cup scheduled for 22nd June.
