Manchester United given hope in pursuit of De Ligt
Mino Raiola has dismissed reports that Matthijs de Ligt is on the brink of a move to French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint Germain.
De Ligt’s agent has given Manchester United hope in their pursuit for the Ajax captain after distancing himself from the ongoing rumours. The 19-year-old is being chased by a number of clubs after he led his side to their first domestic double in 17 years. United, Barcelona, Juventus and PSG are battling for his signature with reports suggesting that the French champions are close to an agreement for De Ligt after their direct held advanced talks with Raiola. However, Raiola has labelled the news which was fueled by French reporter Lassana Camara ‘fake’.
“This is a classic example of fake news. The photograph of me and French journalist in Paris? He asked me to take a picture together, but I did not know who this gentleman was. ‘I have never spoken with him,” said Raiola.
According to reports, United are willing to offer the young defender £350,000-a-week contract to make him the highest paid teenager in world football.
