Pep Guardiola is reportedly planning another sabbatical from football when his contract with Manchester City comes to an end.
According to the Daily Star, Guardiola, who led City to a historic domestic treble last season, has told people the campaign left him shattered and thinking about his next break from the pressure of managing a big club.
The Spaniard's contract with the champions runs until 2021, but sources close to him claim he could decide to walk away at the end of next season if he manages to win the Champions League.
"Pep invests so much emotional energy into his work that it takes it's a big toll," a source was quoted as saying.
"He never stops, but it comes at a cost and leaves him needing a break. It's inevitable he will have to take a step back."
The 48-year-old famously resigned as Barcelona boss in 2012, having won 13 major trophies in four seasons, including two European Cups.
