Ajax Amsterdam captain Matthijs de Ligt looks set to join Laliga giants Barcelona this summer this as reported by Sky Sports.
Apart from Barcelona, the 19-year-old has been linked with a move to the English Premier League with Liverpool and both Manchester clubs said to be interested in his services after impressing in his side's run to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
De Ligt plays alongside Liverpool's Virgil van Djik in the Netherlands side but it is believed Jurgen Klopp does not feel he needs another centre-back.
The defender would leave Ajax on a high, having helped them secure a domestic double this season, including their first Eredivisie title since 2014.
Earlier this season Barcelona announced the signing of de Ligt teammate Frenkie de Jong in the summer and many expect that more names will leave the Johan Cruyff arena. It's been reported too that Hakim Ziyech will follow De Jong to the exit door
Barcelona has been busy in recent years trying to freshen up their centre backs with Carles Puyol and Javier Mascherano leaving in recent years and Gerard Pique now 32.
