Joao Cancelo provides an update on his Juventus future amid interest from Manchester clubs
With both Manchester United and Manchester City interested in his signing, Juventus right-back Joao Cancelo has revealed that he wants to stay at the club.
United, in particular, are looking to overhaul their squad after another trophyless season that saw them finish sixth and will play in the UEFA Europa League next season. With Antonio Valencia leaving the club and Ashley Young having a poor end to the season, the Red Devils will be looking to strengthen in the right-back area.
In an interview with Goal, Cancelo provided an update on his Juventus future, "I want to stay here. I hope my future is at Juventus, where I hope to win many different trophies.
The Portuguese defender also responded to reports that he liked an Instagram post criticizing manager Massimiliano Allegri following their Champions League exit to Ajax, "Honestly I heard about that today, but clearly it wasn’t me who did it. As it would make absolutely no sense for me to do something like that.
"Allegri is one of the best coaches in the world, I’ve always spoken well about him and his qualities. He’s a coach who’s won a lot, both at Juventus and at Milan. There would be no reason for me to like a negative post about him. That is all fake news, from people who try to put a wrench in my relationship with the coach, which makes absolutely no sense."
