Zaha gives report card on Ghana’s Schlupp
Crystal Palace and Ivory Coast star player Wilfried Zaha has offered a rating on his Ghanaian teammate Jeffrey Schlupp.
The Ivorian’s assessment comes just after helping Palace to a 12-place finish, where the Schlupp delivered five goals and three assists.
“Schlupp may not be the first name on the team sheet, but he is a valued squad member at Palace, and he has won over plenty of fans with his performances this season,” Zaha told fans via Twitter.
“As Roy Hodgson noted in recent weeks, he has been a big miss when he has been out injured, as he offers Palace another option, both defensively and going forward. He is clearly liked by Hodgson, and I think he has shown considerable improvement in his time at the club.
Additionally, and as reported by Futaa last month, the former Leicester City footballer earned himself a Player of the Season nominee at Palace this season.
“He is certainly not a bad player, indeed he is a Premier League winner from his time at Leicester, and I think he has shown his worth to the Eagles this season,” Zaha concluded about the Hamburg-born 26-year-old.
Meanwhile, Schlupp will unfortunately not be with Ghana at AFCON due to a season-ending injury last month.
