Graham Potter keen to sign Daniel James if he lands Brighton job
Graham Potter is set to replace Chris Hughton who was recently sacked by Brighton & Hove Albion after a dismal season in the Premier League.
According to TEAMtalk, Potter has told Swansea City that he will consider signing winger Daniel James if he gets the job at the Amex - Manchester United are currently in contention to sign the coveted star.
The former Ostersunds manager is the second favourite after Frank Lampard to replace the Irishman at Brighton who was shown the door on Monday in an unexpected fashion after the side finished two points above the relegation zone.
Swansea are reportedly keen to let Potter go on the condition that Brighton pay his £3 million compensation clause.
The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the Football League's most exciting prospects during an exceptional breakthrough season in which he scored five goals and produced 15 assists.
Potter believes that a move to Brighton would be better for James’ development and he has apparently informed Swansea of his intention to take the jet-heeled forward with him to the top flight.
James is said to be valued at around £10 million.
