David De Gea should be dropped, says former Man Utd goalkeeper Gary Bailey

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Gary Bailey says David De Gea should be dropped from the starting line-up after another disappointing performance in the derby defeat against City on Wednesday night.

The Spaniard was at fault for the visitor's second goal after letting Leroy Sane's shot cannot in off him.

The 2-0 loss came just days after shipping in four goals at Everton for which he came under criticism for his performance and Bailey feels it is time for United to try someone else in goal.

“De Gea has been an absolutely amazing keeper for United,” he tweeted.

“But perhaps time now to give him a rest and let him rediscover his mojo.

“We have a more than capable replacement in Argentinan international Sergio Romero !!”

The Red Devils have conceded 50 goals this season - their worst tally ever in a Premier League season.
