Europa League: Chelsea Defender warns team against making same mistakes
Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has warned his teammates that they cannot afford to commit same mistakes after yet another poor second-half display almost cost them dearly in their match against Slavia Prague on Wednesday night.
The Blues seemed to be cruising to an easy victory against Slavia after racing to a 4-1 lead going into the break but were outplayed in the second half and narrowly managed a slim 4-3 victory.
"I think it's our mistake and one we are making very often," Azpilicueta told BT Sport.
"The result is not easy and we keep conceding early goals and making the same mistakes in the second half,"
"We put ourselves in a position where we could control the game but we suffered until the end. It's not the way we want to win the trophy but we're in the semi-finals,"
"They [Slavia Prague] are a tough side, they never give up and showed that when they beat Sevilla in the last round," he added.
Chelsea's second-half displays have seen them drop numerous points in the Premier League, with the latest being their loss away to Liverpool when they conceded two quickfire goals in the second half.
