Match preview ✅

It's been quite the adventure for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League. They won all six of their group games and dumped Champions League regulars Shakhtar Donetsk and Inter out of the competition. Now Adi Hutter and his charges must somehow overturn a 4-2 first-leg deficit against a gifted Benfica side, after going down to ten for most of the first leg.

Eintracht's 21-year-old striker Jovic was, ironically, on-loan from Benfica until Eintracht made the deal permanent just two days ago on a four-year deal. Frankfurt is incredibly attack-minded, and they'll go for it. He's scored 26 goals and assisted six more across all competitions this season and is very much a man in demand.

Six of Eintracht's last 11 UEFA Europa League games have featured at least four goals and that's a difficult fact to ignore. We expect entertainment tonight.

Team news 🌟

Sebastien Haller didn't feature in the first leg but will be recalled to the team here if he can prove his fitness in time. Dutchman Jonathan de Guzman was only fit enough for a place on the bench in Lisbon and could get a start here and his talent and experience in numerous European leagues could prove vital. Evan Ndicka is suspended after being sent off in the first leg. Experienced Swiss midfielder Gelson Fernandes should start in the holding role for Frankfurt.

Benfica must do without Nigerian fullback Tyronne Ebuehi. Jonas returns from suspension for Benfica but it remains to be seen whether he will start. Pizzi tends to only start one of Benfica's two-legged Europa League ties and he didn't in the first match. Joao Felix, their teenage wing sensation, is one worth keeping an eye out for.
