'I really am very worried', Sarri after defeat to Wolves
After the damaging 2-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri admitted that he is ‘very worried’ and found it difficult to explain his side’s collapse in the game.
Wolverhampton had to dig deep in the game after Ruben Loftus-Cheek opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 18th minute. Nuno Espírito Santo’s men mounted a second-half comeback with Raul Jiminez pulling them level in the 59th minute while Diogo Jota scored three minutes after the hour mark to ensure Wolves walked away with all three points.
Sarri noted that he is worried at how his team surrendered the 1-0 lead to Wolves, “I really am very worried, not about the result but the fact we didn't react to the first goal of our opponents. We had four or five opportunities to score more goals at 1-0 but missed them. Then we lost everything. I don't think it depended on the changes I made. It depended on our mentality.”
