Emery reveals Koscielny’s return date
After featuring in the 1-2 defeat to Portsmouth in the Checkatrade Trophy, Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed the Laurent Koscielny is close to returning to first time football and could possibly return in the UEFA Europa League clash against Qarabag.
Koscielny has been out since April after sustaining an Achilles injury in the 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Europa League semifinal. The French defender is yet to play under new manager Unai Emery this season but the manager has previously emphasized his importance to the team when he returns.
When asked about Koscienly’s return date after the 2-2 draw against Manchester United, Emery replied, “Laurent is very close to playing. He played two matches for the U23s, the last on Tuesday, we are thinking he will start with us soon. I don’t know if Saturday is a possibility. We are thinking the Europa League against Qarabag is a possibility.”
