Messi, Suarez in as Barcelona name full-strength squad to face Onyango’s Sundowns

Spanish giants Barcelona have named a  full-strength squad that includes five-time world player of the year Lionel Messi to face Mamelodi Sundowns in a friendly match at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday.

The match is part of the Nelson Mandela Centenary celebrations that are ongoing in South Africa.

Ernesto Valverde, the Barcelona coach, has travelled with 20 senior team and three reserve players for the one-off match against the newly crowned Premier Soccer League champions.

Before travelling, the team trained at the Tito Vilanova field with star player Leo Messi working out in isolation casting doubts whether he will play a full match at the soccercity.

The squad also has departing captain Andres Iniesta who scored the world-cup-winning-goal at the same stadium in 2010.

Ter Stegen, Cillessen, Semedo, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Denis Suárez, Iniesta, Luis Suárez, Messi, Dembélé, Coutinho, Paulinho, Paco Alcácer, Jordi Alba, Digne, Sergi Roberto, André Gomes, Aleix Vidal,  Yerry Mina, Carles Aleñá (26), Iñigo Ruiz de Galarreta (40) and Jorge Cuenca (41).
