Two more clubs to play Uganda Cranes in England

Uganda Cranes will play Leyton Orient and AFC Wimbledon in their proposed trip to the United Kingdom later in April.

The tour is part of a wide campaign to promote the country’s tourism that will climax with the Pearl of Africa Tourism and Trade Expo-UK slated for May 25-27.

The national team is expected to play the Under-23 sides of both teams around April 16th to 30th.

The news comes just days after English Premier League giants Arsenal FC confirmed that they will be playing against the national team.

The Directors of football for both clubs confirmed the developments in separate letters to the organizers of the trade expo.

“I can confirm that Leyton orient Football Club (U-23) will be pleased to play the Uganda National team during their visit to the UK between April 16-26 and this game will be played at Leyton Orient Football Club, Matchroom Stadium, Brisbane Road, Leyton, London, E10, 5NF. Further details to be arranged nearer the time,” A letter from Martin Ling, the Director of Football at Leyton Orient, dated March 19, 2018, reads in part as quoted by the organizers website.

During the tour, Uganda Cranes are expected to play other lower-tier teams like Barnsley, Doncaster Rovers and Fulham.
