12 Mar 2018, 06:30

JInja Municipal Hippos moved within touching distance of the promotion places with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ndejje University.

The former topflight club struggled to find their rhythm in the first round of the league, made massive changes in midseason transfer and seem to have gotten back their winning formula.

The side has climbed up to fourth place with 27 points, same as third-placed Ndejje and only three below Elgon group leaders, Amuka Bright Stars who were held in Arua against Doves All Stars.

In Rwenzori group, Kitara FC climbed back to the top with three free points after cash-strapped Greater Masaka United failed to turn up.

The Hoima-based team have now accumulated 33 points, followed closely by Nyamityobora with 32 and Kira United with 31 though the former have a game in hand.
