City to make Guardiola best paid manager

Manchester City has a 10-year-plan for the Etihad and the management has identified current manager Pep Guardiola as the right man for the job, offering to make him the best-paid manager in the world of football.

Guardiola signed a three-year deal when he joined the club in 2016 and the club, according to the Mirror, is now looking to tie him down for at least another two years, if not longer.

Impressed owners

The management is believed to be impressed with the way City is closing in on the Premier League title, having already won the Carabao Cup. And as a reward for the on-pitch success, they are willing to offer Guardiola a £20 million-a-season contract which would make him the best-paid manager in world football.

“'I have discovered that Manchester City is a much bigger club that people outside think it is. It does not have a history behind it at the level of titles – but it does have the desire to become winners. I do not rule out continuing to lead in 10 years. It will depend on how I feel and if they want me. It also depends on my family. I am not alone. I cannot live without my family. I will not go somewhere alone,” Guardiola said in an interview.

It is also reported that Guardiola recently bought a £2.7million luxury apartment in Salford and is also a key investor alongside City executives Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano in a Catalan restaurant that is due to open in Manchester this summer.
