The Kenya U23 teams has a busy schedule ahead, with the confirmation from the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa confirming that the team, nicknamed Emerging Stars, will take part in the 2020 Olympic Games qualification process.

A squad of 21 players was released by the federation on Friday 9th March; with Mathare United coach Francis Kimanzi, once a Harambee Stars Head Coach, named as the team’s coach.

Friendly Match

The team’s first call of duty will be a double header with Uzbekistan in friendly matches, planned for later in March and Mwendwa says the matches will be the first of many for the team with the aim being to ready the side for the coming assignments.

“Kenya has enrolled to take part in the 2020 Olympics. As such, the Uzbekistan friendlies will be the first in a series of friendlies that the team will play in preparation for the Olympic qualifiers,” explained the FKF president
