Local football federation (FUFA) has promoted Ali Mwebe to a newly created post of football development director.
The new office replaces the FUFA Technical director's that has previously been held by Asuman Lubowa. Mwebe previously held the position of Competitions director before attending a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management at Leipzig University in Germany.
He is also a Sports science graduate and a CAF Beach Soccer Referees’ Instructor. FUFA Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Watson Ssuubi, said that Lubowa voluntarily submitted his request to resign which the federation's executive committee accepted.
"Asuman Lubowa wrote to retire as the Federation Technical," Ssuubi confirmed.
"The FUFA Executive convened on 8th February 2018 and accepted his decision. We wish him the best and thank him for the great service of over 9 years. Ali Mwebe is the new Football Development Director at FUFA. He will be assisted by Bashir Mutyaba, who is also the FUFA Youth Development officer," he stated.
Ssuubi also confirmed that Aisha Nalule has been handed the permanent role to handle the Competitions Directors after acting in the same capacity during Mwebe's absence.
