Okwi, Batambuze score as Simba, Singida reap wins in Tanzania

Uganda Cranes duo, Emmanuel Okwi and Shafiq Batambuze, both scored as Simba Sports Club and Singida United registered victories in the Tanzania Premier League. 

Okwi struck the only goal in the 36th minute as Simba edged City rivals, Azam FC by 1-0 in Dar Es Salaam. 

The win moved the Reds to 41 points, seven and eight clear from defending champions, Young Africans and Azam.

At the CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza, Ugandan left-back-cum-winger, Shafiq Batambuze converted from the spot in the final minute of first half.

His teammate, Deus Kaseke, added the second in the 59th minute to hand Singida United a vital 2-1 away win that saw the team leap into the second spot. Habib Kayombo grabbed the consolation for the hosts just after the interval.
