FJL: FUFA find Onduparaka at fault for abandoning match

28 Jan, 06:20

Onduparaka Junior team has lost the match against Police Armless Brigade by forfeiture.

The match which was scheduled for Sunday 17th December failed to progress beyond the 15th minute after the Caterpillars walked away complaining of biased match assessors, a poor surface which was unmarked and dangerous debris on the pitch.

"Basing on match reports, the disciplinary committee observed that the away team (Onduparaka) refused to continue with play after having played the match for 15 minutes, this caused the match to be abandoned," the statement from the FUFA Junior League reads.

The club has therefore lost the match by forfeiture in accordance with article 32 (D) of the FUFA Competitions Rules and Regulations 2017/18.

The sentence leaves Onduparaka JT with 32 points, one ahead of KCCA who have played a game more. The two meet later on Sunday.
