Mbarara City trio banned for assaulting referee

The FUFA Disciplinary Committee has suspended three players from Mbarara City for confronting a referee in their 0-1 loss to Kirinya Jinja SS FC. 

The match was played on Wednesday 15th November 2017 at the Bugembe Stadium in Jinja.

Former Onduparaka and Paidha Black Angels striker, Fred Amaku, scored the only goal to grant Kirinya the three points.

The centre referee, Habiba Naigaga's report indicated that three players; Waibi Yeseri (Shirt No 3), Kimera Ali (Shirt No 1), and Ssegujja Swaliki (Shirt No 8) attacked her after the match. 

Verdict 

- The FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel resolved that this act contravened article 30 of FUFA Competitions Rules 2017/18. Accordingly, the trio was found guilty and sanctioned as per article 30.8(iii) of the FUFA Competitions Rules 2017/18 and are to serve a suspension of FOUR (4) AUPL matches for Unsporting behaviour towards a match official.
