Wanyama targets liverpool return

Kenya's captain Victor Wanyama is targeting English Premier League return against Liverpool after being sidelined by a knee injury since Tottenham Hotspurs loss to Chelsea in August.

The Kenya international injured his left knee in pre-season and suffered a reaction after featuring against Newcastle and Chelsea at the start of the campaign.

Mauricio Pochettino will welcome the majority of his squad back from the international break on Tuesday and the Spurs manager hopes Wanyama will rejoin the group before the end of the week.

Saturday’s League game against Bournemouth and the Champions League tie at Real Madrid in a week are too soon for the 26-year-old but he could return against Liverpool at Wembley on October 22.
