Richard Makumbi has ended speculations surrounding his future at Mbarara City FC by extending contract by one year.

The coach joined the club last season and guided the team to the topflight league through the play-offs route after defeating Synergy FC.

Earlier reports pointed that the club had agreed to sign Frank 'Video' Anyau but club chairman Hon. Mwiine Mpaaka assured the coach of his job.

- I am very happy to have signed a new contract. We worked extremely hard to have the team’s promotion to azam Uganda super league, which I am very proud of. Now we must work even harder to stay at top flight league, Makumbi told club media.

Makumbi recently attended Caf B coaching course awaiting a license that qualifies him to handle a club in the Uganda Premier League.

He has previously handled Soana, BUL FC, Fire Master, SCOUL, Fire Masters, Bunamwaya, Victors FC, Hoima Busia, Red Stars (Buikwe), Bunamwaya, Lugazi among others.
